Duties
and Responsibilities: they
care for people that are injured, sick, convalescent and disabled in a variety
of health care settings. They provide hands-on care to patients. The have limited
responsibilities. They must work under
the guidance and direction of a registered nurse or physician. They take also provide basic bedside care.
They take patients temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration. They
also treat bedsores, prepare and give injections and enemas, give alcohol rubs,
apply icepacks and apply dressings.
Salary:
$43, 394
Education:
they must have a diploma
in practical nursing. They must complete a state-approved training program.
They can also take courses in inflectional control, pharmacology, basic
nursing, life span health care, and medical terminology. After the end of their
training they must register to take the National Council Licensure Examination
for Practical Nurses.
